Embrace raises £12,000 in a week in Big Give’s Christmas Challenge 2022!

We’d like to say a massive thank you to all 23 of our wonderful supporters who dug deep in their pockets and helped us raise £12,000 for children harmed by crime.

The money was raised during the double donation week known as The Big Give’s Christmas Challenge 2022.

We had a target to raise £6,000 in one week and because we achieved it Big Give Champions and our generous pledgers MATCHED what we raised taking the total to £12,000.

All of the money raised will go to helping children and families who have been harmed by crime.

Anne Campbell, Chief Executive of Embrace Child Victims of Crime said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to take part in the Christmas Challenge again this year and are so grateful to all of our supporters who helped us reach our target.

“Over the past seven years, thanks to the generosity of our supporters and the Big Give match funding challenges we have raised over £230,000.

“This has had a huge impact on the services we have been able to provide to children whose lives have been devastated by crime.

“There is so much uncertainly for people this year and the cost of living crisis is really hitting hard, so The Big Give’s Christmas Challenge provided the perfect opportunity for our supporters to maximise the impact of their donations.

“On behalf of the children we support, our staff, trustees and volunteers – a huge thank you to everyone who donated! We couldn’t do what we do without you!”

Some of the children who Embrace support are grieving the loss of their mum, dad, brother, sister or other family member who’ve been killed by crime. Others have experienced sexual, physical or emotional abuse, violence or exploitation or have been living in a home torn apart by domestic violence. Police, social services or support charities refer them to us to get the support they need.

We provide emotional support and counselling and practical support including food and school uniform vouchers to help families harmed by crime and living in poverty and struggling because of the cost of living crisis. To find out more visit www.embracecvoc.org.uk
