Dear Santa 2023

In our annual Dear Santa Christmas gift appeal, we invite you to join us in spreading love, hope and joy to children who have been harmed by crime. This year our theme revolves around the figure of Santa Claus, the embodiment of love, kindness, and the magic of Christmas.

Together we can make a difference in the lives of children who have suffered some of the worst crimes imaginable, reminding them that they are not alone.

Our aim is to not only provide physical gifts, but also restore a sense of wonder and happiness to children experiencing hardship.

Over the past 7 years, with your help, we have provided almost 7,000 gifts for children across the UK. Last year was our most successful year to date with almost 1,900 children receiving gifts of choice to open on Christmas morning.

Embrace the true spirit of Christmas by creating a memorable and uplifting Christmas for a young survivor of crime.

  • Dear Santa is our annual Christmas gift appeal to deliver gifts of choice to children and young people harmed by crime across the UK.
  • Children referred for a Dear Santa gift may have suffered trauma as the result of sexual abuse, domestic abuse, neglect, or have lost a parent or loved one through homicide.
  • Dear Santa allows the nominated child to choose their own gift (worth up to £25) which is placed on our Dear Santa Wish List for the public to buy.
  • Our elves will wrap and deliver your gift in time for Christmas Day.
  • 100% of your donation goes to your chosen child.

Spread Santa’s love and help a vulnerable child this Christmas. Buy an extra gift when you shop online and help turn Christmas wishes into reality for some of the most vulnerable children in communities near you.

You can purchase a gift for a child victim of crime near you directly from our Dear Santa Wish lists.

Simply select the wish-list for your area. Here you’ll find a list of Dear Santa gifts together with details of the recipients*, for example their age, the region they come from and the crimes they have experienced.

*in order to protect the privacy of those we support these details have been changed, but are representative of the children your gift will make a difference to.

The impact of your gift this Christmas

There are children all over the UK who will wake up on Christmas morning with no presents under the tree, no joyful unwrapping to look forward to, like Santa forgot to visit.

But there is hope, you could make sure children, whose lives have already been torn apart by the crimes of others, wake up to a gift this Christmas. Whatever you choose, you could help spread Santa’s love and put the magic back into Christmas.

We know from the many thank you messages we have received what a difference these gifts make. Here’s an example from one grateful mum:

“I just wanted to say the biggest thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving my children the biggest smiles on Christmas Day! The gifts they asked Santa for are perfect and I was very tearful watching them opening the special gifts.

‘The meaning behind the gifts is a very emotional one… and I will never ever forget the generosity and kindness of the complete stranger that gifted to my children. To the persons(s) who purchased the gifts for my children thank you, thank you so much.”
