Youth Intervention Officers – Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire

Two part-time Youth Intervention Officer posts are available in the county’s Violence Reduction Unit, working as part of the team to reduce the numbers of reported violent crime amongst children and young people.

Working proactively to prevent crime by offering appropriate contact, support, help and advice and with a range of partners , including schools, local authorities, and other organisations in the voluntary sector, these posts are an exciting opportunity to work in new ways to tackle the root causes of violence.

The roles would suit those with a passion to work with children and young people and who have a good grasp of child protection and safeguarding. ISVA and IDVA training would be an advantage.

Salary will be according to age, qualification and experience.

Youth Support Officers – Kempston, Bedfordshire 

Would you like to support young people harmed by crime?

Embrace Child Victims of Crime has vacancies for two/three part-time posts located in the Signpost Hub in Kempston, Bedfordshire.

The roles will be to support children and young people recovering from serious crime by accessing Embrace’s emotional, practical and specialist services.

Our aim is to provide the right support at the right time – with early intervention being a key way of preventing longer term harm by crime.

Applicants will ideally have experience of working with young people.  Preference will be given to those who have previously worked in sexual abuse, domestic violence or drug abuse teams. ISVA and IDVA training would be advantageous.

Associate Therapists – Bedfordshire

Embrace is seeking suitably  qualified therapists, particularly but not exclusively if you have accreditation, to work in Bedfordshire. You need to be willing to work with young victims of crime and their families and to become part of our team of counsellors who are able to work with traumatised children and/or are familiar with family-focused therapies.

Joining us as an Associate means that you are self-employed, but we will match young people to you, for which we pay you a very completive and hourly rate. we also provide an induction programme, free Safeguarding and CPD training, such as ‘Working with sexual abuse’ and Trauma Focused- CBT.

We welcome expressions of interest from across the county. We have particular demand to support young people affected by domestic abuse or sexual violence.
