Who is making up Embrace’s Royal Parks secret seven?

Seven runners will be pulling on an Embrace vest this October to pound the streets of London to raise money to provide vital support to children harmed by crime.

Embrace Child Victims of Crime is proud to announce Team Embrace- seven runners who together will be supporting children and families harmed by crime by taking part in this year’s Royal Parks Half Marathon.

On Sunday 9 October 2022, our runners will join 16,000 participants on the stunning 13.1-mile route around central London, taking in some of the capital’s world-famous landmarks and four of London’s eight Royal Parks – Hyde Park, Green Park, St James’s Park, and Kensington Gardens.

The Royal Parks Half Marathon is a key date in our fund-raising calendar as our team members help to raise both awareness and vital funds to support children and families whose lives have been devastated by crime.

IT services company Celerity, a member of the Embrace 100 Club corporate partnership programme was first to join the team. Co-Founder and CEO Chris Roche will be joined by team members Lindsey Sharp, Kelly Mcleod, and James Green.

Also joining team Embrace is award-winning news and sci-tech journalist, TV presenter, screen and voice actor and Embrace Ambassador Waseem Mirza.

Primary school teacher Kavita Patel from London has also joined the team together with our very own Head of Income Generation Emma Fleming.

Emma said: “The ongoing after effects of the Covid-19 pandemic together with the current cost of living crisis means it is a really tough climate for fundraising as everyone is looking for ways to cut their own expenses to balance their budget.

“However in these tough financial times, our families need us more than ever and the demand for our services couldn’t be higher. I can’t wait to pull on my Embrace vest to raise awareness of the amazing work we do to help families in crisis and also raise much needed funds to pay for these services.”

Embrace CVoC does not receive any direct funding from Government and relies heavily on the generosity of our public supporters who take on challenges for us to raise funds to pay for our vital services.

Embrace CEO Anne Campbell said: “We are so grateful to all the runners who have chosen to support Embrace. We could not achieve all we do without the generosity and dedication of our supporters. On behalf of our trustees, our team and all the families we support, a really big thank you!”

Last year, we supported 3,738 young crime victims and their families across the UK, providing emotional support and counselling to help heal their trauma and practical support to help them re-build their lives.

Will you help us reach more children and families whose lives have been devastated by their experiences of crime?
