Ground breaking webinar series shine a light

Embrace’s ground-breaking webinar series, Insights into Children & Families, is now available on catch up via our website and Youtube.

Effects of Covid-19, the inexorable rise of domestic violence and sexual abuse, violent crime and the trends in ‘county lines’ and internet predators – all are featured in five webinars, each with three speakers, all experts in their field.

Don’t miss  campaigners Dame Vera Baird, The Victims’ Commissioner for England & Wales and children’s champion Dame Floella Benjamin who lead a series of specialist presentations from the experts who matter.

Each webinar is around 40 minutes and features three presentations.

Anne Campbell, Embrace’s CEO, said:  “The webinars are not just a snapshot of our time,  but shine a light on the issues that those involved in safeguarding the next generation simply cannot ignore.

We were very fortunate in securing such high-calibre speakers which underlines the importance of protecting children and families harmed by crime, something that can only be done by working together.

If our webinar has furthered that goal, then we will have been achieved what we set out to do.  The vignettes jointly and individually build a picture of what it is like for many to be a young person in today’s society.”

Embrace hosted the event in conjunction with CJS Event Solutions and are extremely grateful to all our sponsors who supported this virtual event and made it possible. Topics ranged from ‘How can we protect the next generation?’ to the dangers of cybercrime. The webinar series was recorded and is now available to view on our website: https://embracecvoc.org.uk/webinar-series/

The webinars were free to attend and are free to view but if you wish to make a donation to Alfie’s Hardship Fund you can do so here – Thank you: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/AlfiesHardshipFund

Alfie’s Hardship Fund is raising money to be spent on essential items – the ‘bear’ necessities – to support young victims of crime who are now living in households plunged into poverty as a result of Covid-19.

Thank you once again to all our speakers, sponsors and viewers for making our first virtual event such a success and helping us all gain a further understanding of the impact of crime on children. At Embrace we will continue to make a difference with your support.
