CANter – Easter Equine Therapy Programme

Embrace is delighted to offer children in Bedfordshire aged from 8 – 12 years who have been affected by serious crime the opportunity to take part in the CANter programme – a three week programme of Equine Assisted Therapy to help build confidence, self-esteem, growth and development whist facing challenge or change.

The CANter model is a distinctive framework which allows clients to discover, learn and grow from the horse-human relationship.

Horses are used as metaphors helping clients access their own solutions to change. Our facilitators are certified in the Eagala model, which include a registered mental health professional and an equine specialist, ensuring the highest level of care.

Using the horses as a tool for emotional growth and learning the CANter programme will cover important topics such as respect, responsibility, relationships, boundaries and trust.

Riding skills are not required, clients work with horses on the ground only. This programme is aimed primarily at children that are not familiar with horses.

The programme will be delivered in a series of three, 2 hour sessions at CANter situated in Gravenhurst, Bedfordshire.

The sessions will run from 4.30pm – 6.30pm and participants must be able to attend all sessions.

Dates:
Wednesday 22nd April
Wednesday 29th April
Wednesday 6th May

Places are limited and can only be offered to children who are not already engaged in therapy.
