EMBRACE’S DOUBLE DONATION WEEK RAISES £12,000 FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES HARMED BY CRIME.

We would like to say a massive thank you to all 22 of our wonderful supporters who dug deep in their pockets and helped us raise £12,000 for children and families harmed by crime.

The money was raised during Embrace’s Double Donation Week which took place between 10th and 17th July 2023. We had a target to raise £6,000 in one week and because we achieved it our valued corporate partners and Embrace 100 club members,Shoplight Ltd  and Telefónica Tech generously matched what we raised taking the total to £12,000.

All the money raised will go to helping children and families who have been harmed by crime.

Anne Campbell, Chief Executive of Embrace Child Victims of Crime said: “We are so grateful to all of our supporters who helped us reach our target for our Double Donation Week.”

“There is so much uncertainly for people this year and the cost-of-living crisis is really hitting hard, so our Double Donation Week provided the perfect opportunity for our supporters to maximise the impact of their donations.

“On behalf of the children we support, our staff, trustees and volunteers – a huge thank you to everyone who donated! We could not do what we do without you!”

We are so grateful to everyone who got involved and supported us during our double donation week including our valued corporate partners Shoplight Ltd and Telefonica Tech  who pledged to double every donation made to us up to £6,000 – giving us £12,000 to help children and young people harmed by crime.

Retail lighting specialists Shoplight Ltd. said: “It’s an honour to support Embrace who do such important work supporting young people who have sadly been affected by crime. In 2022 our team voted to support Embrace as our local charity, and we hope to continue building close ties with the team and their work. No one likes the thought of children been affected by crime but knowing we can support a charity that offers emotional and practical support to help young people overcome trauma is a small but impactful thing we can do.”

Leading digital transformation company Telefonica Tech said: “From our donation of £3000 being matched, we are immensely proud to have played a part in exceeding the £12,000 target set by our esteemed Charity partner, Embrace. We know that every penny raised, and the time given for this match fund initiative will have a significant impact. Congratulations to all those who were involved.”

Some of the children who Embrace support are grieving the loss of their mum, dad, brother, sister or other family member who’ve been killed by crime. Others have experienced sexual, physical or emotional abuse, violence or exploitation or have been living in a home torn apart by domestic violence. Police, social services or support charities refer them to us to get the support they need.

We provide emotional support and counselling and practical support including food and school uniform vouchers to help families harmed by crime and living in poverty and struggling because of the cost-of-living crisis.
