Georgina Hoare currently works as a senior manager within the voluntary sector and in private practice. She initially trained as a cellist at Trinity College of Music before retraining as a Music Therapist at Roehampton. Subsequently, Georgina continued her training as a Psychodynamic Counsellor/Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor and Consultant at Birkbeck, WPF and Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust. Georgina is accredited and registered with BACP, BPC and HCPC.
Throughout her career over the last twenty years, Georgina has worked with children, young people and adults who have been impacted by sexual and domestic abuse in therapeutic roles in the NHS, Education and voluntary sectors. Georgina has been working at senior management level for twelve years, previously as the Director of Clinical Services at SurvivorsUK working with men who have experienced sexual violence and the Head of Talking Therapies at Wimbledon Guild, a large local charity. She has published articles on male sexual violence and continues to have an interest in working in this field.
Georgina was delighted to join the trustee team at Embrace in 2018, to support the development and growth of high-quality Talking Therapies and Wellbeing services across the UK. Georgina chairs the Embrace Operations Committee.
