Phil Boyd Police Sergeant from Bedfordshire Police and a keen supporter of Embrace CVOC will be running 10k dressed as our fluffy mascot ‘Alfie the Embrace Bear’ to help raise money for our cause.
They will be joining forces on Saturday 3rd December for some festive fun in London’s beautiful Victoria Park. The route will consist of a 10k run, raising money with every step passing carol singers, reindeer’s and Santa’s Christmas grotto along the way.
Police Sergeant Phil Boyd first volunteered to be Alfie the Embrace Bear at his grand launch back in September 2017 at the Bedfordshire Police Family Fun Day. Alfie the Embrace Bear was named in honour of Embraces late vice chair Alf Hitchcock who died in June.
Ever since Phil has been keen to support us volunteering to dress as ‘Alfie’ at future events when he’s off duty. Phil said “it was the best hour of my career dressed as Alfie the Bear entertaining the kids and I’m keen to help support this amazing cause”
We’d like to express our thanks to Phil for his continued support and wish him and Alfie the Embrace Bear the best of luck for the 2017 Santa Fun Run.
If you’d like to show your support please take the time to visit Phil’s fundraising page, no matter how big or small every donation goes a long way in providing the support needed to help mend hearts, minds and families.
