Well look no further…Embrace CVOC is delighted to offer children who have been affected by serious crime the opportunity to take part in our Equine Assisted Therapy programme this summer.
The pilot programme will be delivered in a series of 4 one to one and a half hour sessions during the summer holidays 2018 at approved riding school Sedgeway Equestrian Centre situated just outside Ely, Cambridgeshire.
Embrace’s Equine Assisted Therapy programme will look to provide the children with the opportunity to interact with horse’s within a controlled, structured, and supervised programme of actives.
The primary goal will be to provide the child/ young person with access to the power of horse motivation.
-Boundaries and limit setting
This will be achieved through a programme of actives to include-
-Personal safety, correct PPE when in close proximity with horses.
-How to interact / body language of the horse.
-Care for equines, stable management and grooming.
-Tack & need for clean properly fitting equipment
-Groundwork with the horse
-Riding- having a sit-on whilst being led around if appropriate
