We are the first charity to benefit from comparethemarket.com’s new CtM4Good programme – which aims to match the broad range of expertise that exists within the price comparison business, with charities in need of those skills.
Over the course of two days, 28 volunteers from comparethemarket.com delivered bespoke training and support across IT, website design, social media and marketing, SEO, risk, legal, data security, GDPR and much more.
Embrace Child Victim of Crime’s Chief Executive Anne Campbell explained some of the work had an immediate impact.
She said: “We are a very small team but we have a big vision to reach many more children and young people harmed by crime. Within hours of the volunteers installing a webchat function, we received our first referral from it for a very serious crime. Sadly, some young children were left devastated and traumatised after their parent was killed. Receiving this information via webchat, meant we were putting our support packages in place within minutes.”
Jonathon Brown, Chief Executive Officer at comparethemarket.com, said: “The team did a fantastic job of imparting the skills we take for granted to a charity that’s so in need of our technical help.
“Everyone walked away happy – the volunteers found it really rewarding and we’ve had some amazing feedback from the team at Embrace who were impressed by the energy, quality of detail and passion our volunteers showed in delivering what has been vital support for this charity so they can help more children in the future.
“I’m incredibly proud of all the work that has gone into this and enabled this charity to move forward significantly, even in just 48 hours.
“Our relationship with Embrace doesn’t stop here. We have detailed aftercare plans and will continue to work with them to help harness their new skills to ensure the charity goes from strength to strength.”
