THANK YOU for caring and helping us hit our target in the Champions for Children match funding campaign

Over £34,000 has been raised to help support young lives who have been devastated by crime and plunged into poverty by COVID-19.

Thank you to all our supporters new and old and 100 Club members for their kind donations during this Summers double donation week. We are delighted to let you know that we have hit our target in the Champions for Children match funding campaign and have raised over £34,000 including gift aid.

We will now be able to provide more vital help and support for vulnerable children and families who have already suffered as a result of crime and whose main household income has been lost as a result of Covid-19.

Since the lockdown measures were enforced many families have been facing severe financial problems – many young victims of crime already lived in cash-strapped homes so unfortunately have been further disadvantaged throughout the pandemic.

The trauma of coronavirus on disadvantaged children has been devastating and Embrace has been receiving referrals from survivors of domestic violence who desperately need support – imagine living, eating and sleeping in a one room refuge with no money, no entertainment, no outdoor space with just basic facilities, now imagine that with 3 children.

Chief executive Anne Campbell said: “We’re thrilled with the result of the ‘double donation’ campaign as so many of our supporters answered our call for help.  This means we’ll be able to support many more vulnerable children, particularly those who have suffered during lockdown in homes where violence and abuse occurred.

“Embrace has developed a range of services to enable us to offer the most appropriate support for children, young people and families.  This support will help many children to recover from what has happened and be better equipped to face the future.”

The children and families we support have suffered significant trauma through serious crime and your support and donations will help them cope and begin their journey to recovery – we can’t thank you enough!
